Sat, Aug 10, 2019, 1 pm –Thu, Aug 22, 2019, 9 pm MCAD MFA Gallery Gallery Exhibition Image Limitless Spaces is an exhibition curated by Zoe Cinel ’18, MFA, and current MFA student Shirin Ghoreyshi in partnership with the MCAD Master of Fine Arts program. How do we imagine new digital worlds where the rules of physics are subverted, how do we bring the experience of the physical reality into a limitless space? Limitless Spaces investigates how artists working in 3D digital environments position themselves into the secular conversation about abstraction and representation. Abstraction as a mechanism by which an infinite variety of experiences can be mapped on short noises (Anatol Rapoport); Representation as a way to present, present a second time or depict the world and reality through the act of naming its elements. This exhibition shows us the present, the future and the possibilities of how we inhabit these new spaces that are frameless yet they are accessed through a screen. Limitless Spaces features artists working with 3D scanning, 3D modeling technologies, VR, AR, and interactive digital media.
