Rik Sferra’s photography and video work has been exhibited at the Minnesota Museum of American Art, the Minneapolis Institute of Art, the Soap Factory, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Cincinnati Art Museum, and the School of Visual Arts, New York.

Sferra has received grants and fellowships from the McKnight Foundation, Film in the Cities, the Minnesota State Arts Board, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

His freelance photography clients have included Rolling Stone, the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, Design Quarterly, Aveda Corporation, Medtronic, Catholic Charities, and 3M.

In addition to his teaching career and artistic endeavors, Sferra plays drums and percussion for jazz/rock band the Basic Food Group.

Gallery Visitor Policy for Spring 2022

The MCAD Gallery is open to the public the following hours:
Monday–Friday: 9:00 a.m–7:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

All visitors must enter through the north (main) entrance, sign in at the welcome desk in the main lobby, and stay in designated gallery areas.

Masks are required inside of MCAD buildings regardless of vaccination status.
