Tue, Feb 16, 2021, 1 –2 pm Online, Central Standard Time Visiting Artist Lecture Image JOIN VIA ZOOM Kate Casanova is an interdisciplinary artist who explores the posthuman body through sculpture and video. Her work challenges perceived binaries such as human/nonhuman and organic/synthetic to create an expanded view of what it means to be human. Casanova has exhibited nationally and internationally at venues such as the Barbican Centre (London), Le Poisson Rouge (New York), the Weisman Art Museum (Minneapolis), and the Black Cube Nomadic Museum (Denver). She received an MFA from the University of Minnesota in 2013 and a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design in 2008. She is an Assistant Professor of Sculpture at the University of Denver.
