Fri, Jan 28, 2022, 12 –1 pm Online, Central Time Visiting Artist Lecture Image “All spaces have meanings and associations, and I use space as a palpable material.” —Maren Hassinger Multidisciplinary artist Maren Hassinger will discuss her life’s work and the reimagining of her iconic pink installation Embrace/Love, to be titled Love (for Minneapolis) as a healing intervention for The Great Northern 2023. Maren Hassinger is the Emeritus Director of the Rinehart School of Sculpture at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, which she led for 20 years. During a career that has spanned more than four decades, Hassinger has explored relationships between the industrial and natural worlds in a practice that is both meditative and critical. Currently, her work is focused on exploring issues of equality. Presented in partnership with The Great Northern as part of MCAD's Spring 2022 Visiting Artist Series.
