Beginning as a shared painting studio equipped with industrial screenprinting equipment, the space quickly morphed into a design and print studio where Butcher and Nakanishi specialize in handcrafted posters and design work for some of the city’s most recognized cultural institutions. Sonnenzimmer’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, with a recent exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and an exhibit in Thessaloniki, Greece. Their poster work can be found in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Art Gallery at the University of Maryland, and the Museum of Design, Zurich.
