Please join us on Thursday, March 13 for a visiting artist lecture with Stacey Davidson at 1:00 p.m. in Auditorium 150.

Stacey Davidson moved to Rock Hill, SC from St. Paul, MN in 2011 to teach painting at Winthrop University. Her work has been widely exhibited. In New York she has exhibited with FiveMyles, PPOW, RyanLee, Marlborough Graphics, and the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art. In London she’s shown with Marlborough Fine Art. Exhibitions in Minneapolis include the Soap Factory, Franklin Art Works, and Beyond the Selfie: Portraits in the 21st Century at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Closer to home she’s exhibited at the Mint Museum in Charlotte, NC in Gendered, and was a Faulk Visiting Artist at UNC-Greensboro in 2017. Residencies include Open Eye Theater (performance), Minneapolis, Jentel Residency Center, Banner, WY, Hambidge Center, Rabun Gap, GA, Virginia Center for Creative Arts, and McColl Center for Art and Innovation, Charlotte, NC. She has received numerous grants and fellowships, including a Bush Foundation Fellowship and two McKnight Foundation Fellowships. She received a BFA in painting from the Maryland Institute, College of Art (MICA) and an MFA in painting from the University of Cincinnati. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Weisman Art Museum, and the Cleveland Museum of Art as well as numerous private collections. She currently lives and works in Rock Hill.
