Image Faculty Alumni ’04 Title Adjunct Faculty Education BFA, University of Colorado Boulder Michael Banning’s paintings and drawings of contemporary American urban, industrial, and domestic landscapes have been exhibited in solo exhibitions in Chicago, Denver, New York, and Minneapolis, where he has been represented by the Groveland Gallery since 1998. In addition to being published in New American Paintings magazine in 2007, his work has also been included in numerous national and regional group exhibitions. Banning is the recipient of multiple grants from both the Minnesota State Arts Board and the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs as well as the recipient of a Jerome Foundation Travel and Study Grant. He has taught drawing, painting, and design at MCAD, Columbia College Chicago, the Art Institute of Illinois–Chicago, the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, and Oakland Community College in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
