Trained as a printmaker, Howard Quednau has exhibited mostly paintings in recent years.

His work is included in various collections, including those of Chicago's Kemper Corporation and Concordia University. His recent 3-D dioramas will be shown recently at the Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, Wisconsin, and at Metro State University in St. Paul.

Quednau has lectured at a symposium on critique in Washington, DC, and in a fourteenth-century castle in County Claire, Ireland. He has been a juror for the Minnesota Scholastic Art Competition and the Minnesota State Fair.
