Image Faculty ’03 Title Instructor Degree Master of Fine Arts Current Career Arts Educator Location Minneapolis Ivonne Yáñez is an interdisciplinary artist and fashion designer originally from Mexico City. She earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2023 and holds a bachelor's degree in Fashion Design from the Universidad del Valle de México and the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan.Her work has been exhibited in spaces such as the Rochester Art Center, SooVAC, Gallery 148, Gamut Gallery in Minneapolis, Random Access Gallery in Syracuse, New York, and the Museo Sebastián in Chihuahua, Mexico.Currently, Ivonne serves as an educator at the Walker Art Center and as a adjunct faculty at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD). She is also an educator at the Textile Center, where she is dedicated to preserving and promoting traditional Mexican textile techniques.Ivonne's work explores the relationship between memory, surrealism, and Mexican cultural traditions through mediums such as installation, painting, and textile sculpture.
