Joshua Foss is an accomplished urban strategist, planner, ecologist, and thought leader who has developed and led numerous breakthrough initiatives throughout the world. He co-founded and is the director of development of the Ecala Group, an international infrastructure design, development, and advisory firm that guides districts, cities, and entire regions beyond sustainability.

As an instructor at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Foss also leads a master's course comprising 150 hours of tightly curated content that guides working professionals to understand the complex nature of sustainable development through the study of social, ecological, and economic influences.

In years past, Foss ran Thrive Design Studio, a full-service design and consulting firm that had its projects profiled internationally. He also worked in London with advisory and development firm Beyond Green, contributing to a community development that is currently striving to be the most ecologically advanced in all of Europe, as well as an ambitious city manifesto program that has since been offered as a lecture series at Cambridge University.

Foss possesses a master's degree in strategic leadership toward sustainability, is a certified urban farmer, and frequently lectures at universities, conferences, and summits around the world.
