Michael D. Hay is an artist living in Minneapolis. He is currently the executive director of Media Active, a media production company based at St. Paul Neighborhood Network (SPNN). He was previously the youth programs director and catalyst film curator for Intermedia Arts where he directed the development and operations of year-round youth art programs including the Teaching Artist Roster for over ten years and for the past five years he has been curating film screenings in the Intermedia Arts theater.

While living in Chicago he worked in commercial photography and produced exhibit media for the Field Museum of Natural History. He also taught art and media at the Boys and Girls’ Clubs of Chicago and at the community development organization Archi-Treasures. Since relocating Minneapolis he has been deeply involved in the creative and youth development community here and taught film classes at the Walker Art Center, El Colegio Charter School, and at Normandale Community College. He was a 2014 Fellow at Intermedia Arts' Creative Community Leadership Institute and manages the Media Active Program at Intermedia Arts producing creative, high-quality, award winning film and media content for non-profits and companies all over the Twin Cities.
