Sarah Bavelli spent several years in Italy, studying its art, language, and culture, and then gave tours in the Uffizi Gallery and Florence’s historic center. In graduate school, she focused on European art from Ancient Rome through the seventeenth century. Recently, she has also become interested in the traditional art of China and Japan, and in particular how artists and patrons in Europe and East Asia were influenced by one another post-contact.
