November 04, 2020 Kindra Murphy Meet the artists of the 2020 MCAD Faculty Biennial These six books are a work in progress and contain a collection of found ephemera— fruit stickers, shipping and baggage labels, quality control tags, wrappers, etc.—acquired over a lifetime; each had an intended, yet temporal purpose, and in most circumstances would have been overlooked and thrown away. These mundane but beautiful ‘bits’ document and inventory only a small portion of what I eat, what I purchase, and where I’ve been. Some sketchbook pages are organic and spontaneous collages, some take years to complete and amass.
