I submitted various works I did for classes, as well as a project I did with some friends for the 48-hour film fest last semester—which was really fun. Why did you decide to come to MCAD? I had heard that MCAD had a strong animation program, as well as a wide variety of other courses so I could branch out too. What's next for your practice? Anything you're really excited to make? I am currently working on a few personal projects I'm really excited about. I also have an assignment I'm going to be working on soon that's going to blend 2D animation and live-action footage. I'm really looking forward to getting started on that. Favorite thing about college life (so far)? I love living independently and meeting people. What inspires you? I love horror. I am also fascinated by animators who are really able to push movement. Like, foreshortening and moving all throughout the frame/space. I am really inspired by animators who aren't stuck to any certain pose or place. I'm really working on that right now. Do you have a favorite piece you've made? Describe it! Oh man, my final for Character Animation. I worked SO hard on that one. I learned a lot. I wanted to something really ambitious that I've never done before. So I decided to do a big transformation sequence from something that happened in a D&D campaign I'm in. Anything you're obsessed with at the moment? I am really trying to pick apart traditional 2D animation. The way things move is really different from how animated things move now (much less use of onion skin). I'm trying to figure out why and how to learn from it. What do you do in your free time? I like cooking and spending time with my friends, partner, and cat. Explore more about Grey Anderson
