Describe the work you submitted for merits.

The work I submitted was created in the first year of the Master of Arts in Graphic and Web Design program. Included were projects from Typography, Web Development, Design Studio and Web Design courses.

What made you choose to come to MCAD for your MA?

I have always respected MCAD; however since I am not located in the Twin Cities, attendance was always out of reach for me. The 100% online Master of Arts degree program finally made it possible.

What is the MCAD online learning experience like?

I look forward to synchronous classes and town meetings. Online asynchronous projects have been easy to work into my schedule. The opportunity to meet instructors and designers from around the country has allowed me to learn more about design careers in different geographic locations.

Favorite thing about the program (so far)?

The projects are challenging and rewarding. My portfolio has grown while my skills have expanded. As I prepare to complete the program this fall, I am surprised by how much I have learned in such a short amount of time.

What inspires you?

Color.

Do you have a favorite piece you've made? Describe it!

The mural Home in downtown Green Bay is one of my favorite works I’ve created at MCAD. It is a painted mural with an Augmented Reality scene of animated woodland creatures that dwell in the neighborhoods throughout Green Bay. It’s fun, light-hearted, and engaging. The initial idea of this project was first conceived in Design Studio.
