In her exhibit Double Consciousness, Double Happiness 囍, adjunct faculty member and alumni, Anika Schneider ’19 explores her dual identity as a Chinese American. Her prints and ceramics are informed by Chinoiserie, the early 18th-century European style intended to evoke and imitate Chinese designs and patterns.

Her use of these aesthetics reflects how her self-perception varies from the ones projected onto her by others. Many of the ceramic pieces are based around food, togetherness, culture, and how they've shaped her identity. The exhibit debuted at the College of Saint Benedict’s Gorecki Gallery on October 28 and runs through December 7.
