March 28, 2025 Image Owen Dennis ’09 recently shared his journey in animation and showrunning during an artist talk at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, offering valuable insights into developing a television show from pitch to production.Dennis began his post-college career in an unexpected direction—moving to China to work as an English teacher. However, his passion for animation soon led him back to the industry, and he relocated to Los Angeles, where he worked as a storyboard artist on the hit Cartoon Network series Regular Show. Between 2012 and 2016, Dennis contributed to thirty-three episodes as both a writer and storyboard artist.In 2016, Dennis released the pilot for Infinity Train, a concept that would later evolve into a full-fledged animated series. The show officially aired on Cartoon Network from 2019 to 2021. Currently, Dennis is engaged in multiple projects and has recently completed work on a new show titled Among Us.
