The Minnesota Museum of American Art will be presenting an retrospective exhibition on the career of Professor Emeritus Hazel Belvo.

The exhibit is entitled For Love, and will be the M's first open exhibition after COVID-19 restrictions. The installation will touch upon Belvo's 70-plus years of her career. Works include love drawings created while her son struggled with a tragic sickness, collaborative works with her husband George Morrison ’43, works made while teaching at MCAD and the Grand Marais Art Colony, among other notable pieces. The installation focuses on Belvo's intersectionalities of her life, and how her artwork thrives by competing and overlapping experiences.

In addition to the exhibition, the M will also present An Evening with Hazel Belvo, where John Larsen, Mike Stewart, Beth Bergman, Karen Desnick and Belvo herself will introduce her Love Drawings portfolio and a preview of the exhibit.
