Ben Moren ’10 has been selected to participate in the upcoming CURRENTS 2025 Festival.

Moren will present his innovative work, Birch Transducer (Veery), an interactive sound installation that merges nature and technology. At the heart of this piece, an audio voice coil excites a birch bark hollow, transforming it into a resonant speaker membrane.

Inspired by the haunting, descending call of the Veery, a migratory bird that bridges the Boreal/Mixed Hardwood and Amazon forests, the installation features an evocative soundscape populated by the voices of the various birds. Once silent and still, the birch bark now echoes the living symphony of its woodland origins.

As part of a diverse group of artists at CURRENTS 2025, Moren's work will be exhibited alongside immersive installations, experimental sound environments, and cutting-edge multimedia performances.
