March 01, 2024 Image Tom Eslinger ‘90 is currently displaying his typographical design works in a solo exhibition titled Stuck in My Head at the Center on Halsted. Recently Eslinger has transitioned from his long-lasting career in advertising to fine arts. Inspired by Pop Art and Punk music from the sixties and seventies, Eslinger utilizes lyrics and imagery to tap into the nostalgia of music. Eslinger’s process involves the typographical design of selected lyrics and the assemblage of stickers and vintage laser-cut album covers to embody the song. In the later stages of his creative process, Eslinger creates custom stickers as “easter eggs” to signal the song and attach personal associations to it. In an interview with FAD Magazine, Eslinger noted, “Music and visuals are completely interconnected in my life from my earliest memories. I find a lot of comfort to having musical poetry in my mind that pops up occasionally and brings the associated time and place and memories with it.” Stuck in My Head On display until March 30, 2024 Second Floor Gallery, Center on Halsted (Chicago, IL) Learn More Eslinger's Website Stuck In My Head (fadmagazine.com—February 9, 2024) Explore more about Tom Eslinger
