August 12, 2021 Image credit: Kira Fennell Kira Fennell ’21 has garnered over 2.5 million views in a series of TikToks detailing her process work for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Duck Stamp Contest. This year will mark Fennell's third entry for the contest, in which last year they were the youngest artist to compete. Fennell told Buzzfeed News, "It's kind of the American Idol equivalent to wildlife art competition. Even though there's no direct prize. It's just super dorky, super prestigious." Judging of the entries will take place beginning on September 24, spread over three rounds; however, Fennell already feels this year is a win. "People are so nice, and I like that so many more people are gonna watch this year," Fennell said. "I did not expect so much support. People have bought lots of things from my shop. So financially, that has been amazing."
