Field Notes by David M. Scott ’98

MCAD alumni David M. Scott ’98 debuted a new series of abstract watercolor paintings at the Rosalux Gallery on January 4, 2025. Field Notes is an investigation of the space within a sheet of paper, and how the forms on the page can create a harmony of color, shape, and line.

After years of painting, photography, and numerous years in architecture, his artistic process foregoes any sketch and instead works off of instinct. His work manifests itself as he works from his subconscious, choosing to react to the work instead of planning and overthinking it.
