Gianni Pettena, a pivotal figure in the Radical movement of Italian architecture, is currently exhibiting Gianni Pettena: Anarchitecture in France.

Pettena's work challenges conventional architectural practices by exploring alternative forms of practice that critique societal relationships with built spaces. Emphasizing architecture's ephemeral and performative aspects, his installations, videos, and sculptures invite viewers to reconsider architecture as a dynamic and participatory experience rather than static construction.

Inspired by his residencies in Minneapolis and Salt Lake City, Pettena's works often blur the boundaries between art and design. One of his notable works, Paper, created in 1971 at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where he taught, features thousands of paper strips filling a room, inviting participants to cut paths through the installation.

Anarchitecture showcases Pettena's career-spanning works that challenge the notion of architecture solely as a physical entity, encouraging visitors to engage with architecture as a conceptual practice that evolves through interaction and interpretation.
