July 31, 2024 Image Renowned artist James Casebere ‘76 will showcase his latest sculptural creations at ‘T’ Space in New York. Casebere studied with Siah Armajani at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and has since gained international recognition for his innovative contributions to contemporary art. Known for his pioneering approach to architectural models and photography, Casebere's exhibition will feature large-scale wooden sculptures exploring synthetic nature and organic growth. Inspired by Japanese wood preservation techniques such as Shou Sugi Ban, Casebere utilizes sustainable bamboo plywood to construct these sculptures, reflecting his exploration of materiality and light. The exhibition will coincide with Upstate Art Weekend, offering visitors a chance to engage directly with Casebere's transformative work.
