Lake Park artist Jennie Ward ‘99, celebrated for her vibrant abstract paintings and charcoal drawings, premiered her latest solo exhibition, Love Song in the Chaos, at Art Project 605. Coaxed by gallery co-owner Ellen Moses, who discovered Ward’s work on Instagram, the exhibition showcases Ward’s profound connection to Minnesota landscapes, from fields to lakes and skies.

Ward’s artistic journey, rooted in drawing since childhood, integrates charcoal, pencil, and watercolor alongside her abstract oil paintings. The gallery highlights pieces dating from 2020 to the present, illustrating Ward’s evolution and artistic exploration under Moses’s encouraging guidance. Described as both two-dimensional landscapes and three-dimensional explorations, Ward’s works evoke energy and interpretation, inviting viewers to engage deeply with each piece

Ward’s artworks have been showcased in various prestigious venues, including the Minneapolis Skyway and the St. Paul Capitol, and she has been an Artist-in-Residence at the Vermont Studio Center.
