John Barlow Wins Fantasy Art Award

MCAD instructor John Barlow was recently named a winner in the L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future contest.

His winning piece, created for the short story The Stench of Freedom, features a dark, dystopian world powered by human energy. Barlow hopes the recognition will elevate his career, with aspirations of illustrating book covers and working with renowned publishers like The Folio Society.

The L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 41 anthology, featuring Barlow’s work, will be available on April 22, 2025.
