March 23, 2023 Image Dan Jurgens ’81 recently gave an interview to local pop culture outlet Twin Cities Geek. Famous for working on the iconic The Death of Superman comic and for creating the superhero Booster Gold, a character that has been recently announced to be part of James Gunn's upcoming plans for the DC universe, Jurgens has also written and drawn Batman, Green Arrow, Spider-Man, Thor, and other superheroes. In the interview, Jurgens goes over his history with comics, mentions his time at MCAD, and his reactions to the new Booster Gold series. "I took what I was learning in other classes and kind of put it into comic work that I was doing, building my portfolio, and was fortunate enough to have a couple of instructors who would allow me to kind of pursue that my own way," Jurgens mentions. "To do the projects that I’m really interested in and fascinate me. It’s been a lot of fun for a long, long time. And to be able to continue that is really kind of—not “kind of,” it is the ideal situation. And it’s fun to be able to do that and still be able to, as I say, do work that touches people that way."
