March 03, 2025 Image Soo Visual Arts Center recently opened its highly anticipated Untitled 19 exhibition, curated by Keisha Williams, director of galleries and exhibitions at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. The exhibition features thirty-one artists and focuses on themes of connection, intimacy, and the human condition. In her curatorial role, Williams brought together works spanning painting, sculpture, collage, and textiles, emphasizing the quiet yet powerful moments that evoke a deep sense of human connection. Williams, who has long been an advocate for underrepresented voices in art, noted that her role as a Black woman curator is especially complex in a space historically shaped by white supremacy.“Bringing together artists and creating support systems that uplift them is the ultimate purpose in my life,” Williams said. “In times of strife, I firmly believe we should always look to artists and creatives. They’re able to create something intangible in the world and make it visible for us.”Untitled 19 ExhibitionFebruary 15–March 23, 2025Soo Visual Arts Center (Minneapolis, MN)Learn MoreSudanese Canadian singer Mustafa brings first world tour to The Cedar (sahanjournal.com—February 14, 2025)
