Faculty member Anne Labovitz is bringing her thought-provoking exploration of the intersection between creativity and well-being to the Plains Art Museum in an exhibition titled, Convergence: Health & Creativity.

For Convergence, Labovitz engaged with more than forty healthcare professionals and administrators in the Fargo-Moorhead area over five months. Their insights were then transformed into abstract works through Labovitz's unique interpretive listening process, which combines abstracted text, mark-making, and color theory.

The exhibition includes more than a dozen new paintings, sculptures, and interactive installations. Key features of the exhibit include The Human Condition, a large-scale Tyvek sculpture, and Well-Being Wall II, an interactive installation inviting visitors to contribute their own thoughts on well-being.

"This exhibition is an experiment in how color, light and atmosphere can provide a path to well-being and even spark joy," says Labovitz. "I wanted to examine how creativity, and self-expression are connected to health and happiness, and create a sense of visual optimism."
