Adriana Rimpel '09, known as Lady Midnight, confronts addiction, grief, and her Afro-Caribbean heritage in her latest album, Pursuit & the Elusive. Released in October 2023, the album blends soulful ballads with infectious dance tracks, showcasing Rimpel's personal journey and artistic evolution.

Raised in St. Paul by a Mexican mother and Haitian father, Rimpel's music reflects a blend of cultural influences. From her early days with bands like Malamanya to her solo career, she explores themes of loss and self-discovery through dreamy synth-pop and poignant lyrics.

Beyond music, Rimpel mentors youth at Red Lake Indian Reservation and supports initiatives for immigrant and refugee girls through the Women's Initiative for Self Empowerment.
