MCADians Kelly Frankenberg ’03 and adjunct faculty Alexis Schramel ’23, MFA, are two of eleven people who participated in the making of a piece of art that will be presented in the city hall of Minneapolis suburb Columbia Heights.

The art, named Mississippi River Pearl, stems from the Mississippi Watershed and Management Organization's Stewardship Fund Program grant, which supported eleven people from the larger MWMO neighborhood population to meet and collect trash alongside the Mississippi, and later create a piece of art from it.

The project is managed by Barbara Bridges (who Frankenberg has collaborated with in the past), and will be displayed at Columbia Heights City Hall.
