Minnesota Public Radio has recently featured faculty member William "Billy" Gustavo Franklin, Alondra Garza ’23, MFA, and Xavier Tavera ’14 as part of a news story revolving around a new book documenting contemporary Latin artists in Minnesota.

The story, which was broadcast over MPR affiliates on April 19, mainly focuses on Franklin and his new book, Latin Art in Minnesota: Conversations and What's Next, which features in-depth interviews with Garza and Tavera, as part of 12 Minnesota artists with roots in Central and South America.

Garza says, "People in the Latino community here don't feel welcome going to art exhibitions or institutions because they feel exclusive, so this book could be the first step in bridging that gap."
