Michael Carson '96 is celebrated in ICONIC LIFE Magazine for his evocative figurative paintings that blend emotional depth with abstract backgrounds. His work, characterized by its dynamic and expressive nature, focuses on capturing the raw gestures and feelings of his subjects.

Carson’s journey as an artist began with a pivotal moment at age twenty-eight when he was inspired by a gallery painting to pursue art seriously. Since then, he has developed a unique approach that thrives on spontaneity rather than meticulous planning.

“I’m not completely aware of why I come up with the pieces I do,” Carson admits, emphasizing the freedom and creativity that spontaneity brings to his work.

For the past twenty years, Carson has been represented by Bonner David Galleries, where his art has continuously evolved. His passion for painting has also led him to travel, particularly enjoying annual trips to Italy to teach workshops. This international experience fuels his creativity, creating a cycle of inspiration and artistic growth.
