September 27, 2023 Image MCAD Professor Emeritus Lynda Monick-Isenberg has helped instruct a 55+ art drawing course in conjunction with the Minneapolis Institute of Art over the summer. The course, part of Mia's Vitality Arts program, worked on giving art workshops for adults age 55 and older. The project, a collaboration between the Catholic Charities Higher Ground shelter and Mia, ultimately culminated in the "55 and Better: Vitality Arts at Mia" exhibition. “It's about believing that people 55 and over can learn something new, that every one of us can be inspired by something through the rest of our lives,” says Monick-Isenberg. “It's about believing in the older adults and their capabilities and their interests.” 55 and Better: Vitality Arts at Mia On view until November 12 Minneapolis Institute of Art (Minneapolis) Learn more 55 and Better Mia exhibition page Drawing connection: Art class unites formerly unhoused men with case managers (mprnews.org—September 11, 2023) 55 and better: Vitality Arts exhibition reveals latent talents and lasting friendships (new.artsmia.org—September 8, 2023) Explore more about Lynda Monick-Isenberg
