"Plasmic" Exhibition

Plasmic, a bio-art exhibition curated by Vernon Vanderwood ’24, is set to open at Second Shift Studios.

This innovative showcase features works by fellow alumni Josh Anstrand ’23, Kate Casanova ’08, and Alexis Schramel ’23, MFA, exploring themes of bodily interfaces, ecosystems, and community through a bio-curious lens.

Inspired by plasma—the fluid barrier within cells—Plasmic delves into the tension of existence within and beyond the body. The exhibition fosters a conversation on permeability, relationships with the "other," and the intersectionality of human and nonhuman life.
