What surprised you the most about the Pre-College Summer Session?

The amount of things we could do in MCAD. The people working on this program make sure that there is never a dull moment when you're there and fill the day with fun and memorable experiences.

What aspect of the program has had the biggest impact on you?

During the Character and Concept Design course, the part that had the biggest impact on me was being able to get feedback from both fellow students and professional character designers. Hearing others' opinions and thoughts really helps generate ideas of what will work for your projects.

How has your artistic practice changed from being a part of the program?

I've found that my drawing speed has increased a little since taking this program. I also find myself looking more into the compositions and color palettes of my works as well, making sure everything flows well and is appealing to the eye.

What was your favorite experience, outside of the classroom?

Meeting new friends! Without this program, I doubt I would've been able to meet such amazing artists and learn so many new connections for practicing art as a career.

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about coming to Pre-College Summer Session?

Don't be worried about what everyone may think of you or your art. Chances are they are just as worried about what *you* will think of their art. We're all nervous and that's okay!
