Shawn McCann Leads Chalk Art Extravaganza at St. Louis Park's West End

From July 20–July 21, under the stewardship of Shawn McCann ‘02, founder of Canvas Convergence, St. Louis Park played host to WE Chalk, a vibrant two-day event supported by the Star Tribune, The Shops at West End, and Discover St. Louis Park.

Gamble Drive transformed into a bustling hub of artistic expression, featuring acclaimed chalk artists such as Marisa Alvarado from New Jersey and Erik Greenawalt, aka THE CHALKING DAD, from Pennsylvania.

McCann '02, renowned for his ceiling art at Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store and other notable installations, curated the event. Local talents like St. Paul’s Allison Severson also showcased their skills. Attendees enjoyed activities including a kids' chalking zone, a collaborative chalk mandala, and culinary delights from West End Blvd food trucks.
