Turczan Exhibits Work at Galerie C in Neuchâtel, Switzerland

MCAD professor Katherine Turczan is currently exhibiting her work From Where They Came in a group show titled Je suis une hors-la-loi at Galerie C in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.

The exhibition explores themes of restricted freedoms and the resilience of marginalized communities in the face of political and historical upheaval, including works by Maude Arsenault, Alexandra Catiere, and Sara Kontar alongside Turczan.

Turczan’s contribution focuses on Ukrainian youth from 1991 to 2008, capturing the emotional impact of Chernobyl and the collapse of the Soviet Union on children, women, and teenage girls—those often overlooked in the broader narratives of historical events. Her poignant photographs highlight the enduring trauma faced by this generation, linking past suffering to contemporary political unrest in Ukraine.
