MCAD is pleased to announce that beginning on May 20, 2024 Adam Buhr will become the new Vice President of Institutional Advancement at MCAD. Adam impressed members of the search committee with his passion for student support, knowledge of the changing landscape of philanthropy, extensive history of development-related accomplishments, and enthusiasm for values that are integral to MCAD.

Adam comes from the University of Minnesota College of Design where he and his team completed a major fundraising campaign and secured multi-phase funding for the new Kusske Design Initiative. He has also led fundraising for the U's School of Public Health, The Trust for Public Land, and Hmong American Partnership in St. Paul. In addition to his work with the College of Design, Adam’s community commitments include driving support for St. Paul's Midway Peace Park. Adam brought together private donors and federal funding to purchase the land and to design and create a new permanent greenspace amenity.

Adam lives in St. Paul and enjoys hiking and camping, as well as shopping in record and vintage stores with his two teenage boys. He will also happily chat about the Chicago Bears, bicycling, fly-fishing, music, and cars.

Adam joins an incredibly dedicated Institutional Advancement team who has worked tirelessly to raise over $1.4 million dollars year to date with more funds in the pipeline. Special thanks to Annie Gillette Cleveland for taking on the role of interim VP of Institutional Advancement for the last nine months on top of her regular responsibilities as Vice President of Communication and Marketing Strategy.

Thank you to the Institutional Advancement team. Welcome, Adam, to the MCAD community.
