A Future Where Sustainability Is Standard Practice

All practice should be sustainable practice. (Consider that the reverse of that: all practice is unsustainable, which by definition means that unsustainable practice has no future.) This core principle underlies MCAD's Sustainable Design program’s efforts, and guides our curriculum as we train the next generation of designers, innovators and creative thinkers.

So it was a natural evolution that we should make connections with the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP), whose vision aligns with ours and who’s mission is to empower professionals to advance sustainability. Being a member of ISSP includes benefits such as professional development, access to a global network of like-minded practicing professionals, access to research, resources and tools, and opportunities to advance sustainability research, partnerships and policies.

The ISSP recently developed and launched a new professional certification exam to credential sustainability professionals called the ISSP-SA Exam (SA for "Sustainability Associate"). We are proud to announce that Curt McNamara, Wendy Jedlička and Holly Robbins -all MCAD instructors- are now certified as ISSP-SA.

New ISSP-SA Exam Prep Course @MCAD

Being one of the first ISSP Educational Partners, MCAD had the privilege of developing a new, fully online 4-week course to help sustainability professionals prepare to take the ISSP-SA exam. The certification exam is difficult, as it is both broad and specific at the same time. Even the most experienced sustainability professionals should plan to study for it.

Stay tuned to learn more about the launch of MCAD's new ISSP-SA Exam Prep Course in spring 2018!
