The purpose of the Lazy Haru exhibition is to interest a wide range of audiences, including those who are unfamiliar with the concept and history of personality type, and those that have the same personality type as mine. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), as designed and broadly enacted by neurobiologists and psychologists in the US, is a tool used in the Lazy Haru exhibition. The name of the Lazy Haru brand is a combination of my ISFJ (Introvert, Sensing, Feeling & Judging) personality, as categorized by the MBTI, and my lifestyle. The word “Haru” means “Day” in Korean, and through this translation, I am adding my Korean identity to the personal brand. The exhibition area is converted into a cozy living room, which represents the ISFJ personality type. The concept of "Lazy Haru" comes to life through formal design decisions, such as a Climate Crisis font that transforms to round edge, an orange couch, white letter pillows that represent the logo name, branded shopping bags, books, and a view of the city. Personal interaction and exploration of the environment are made possible by interactive components like the invitation to sit on the couch, touch the pillows, and change the order of letters on the pillows. Audiences are welcome to engage with the handmade cushions by sitting or lying down on the couch. A number of uncontrollable variables come into play once audiences have used the area. While some people might carefully arrange the pillows' letters, others might just leave them lying around. These unpredictable factors significantly impact the mood of the space, dictated by the choices made by visitors. The exhibition encourages audiences to relax, to slow down, and to look into my personality and consider my unique characteristics by creating a warm and accepting environment. A lazy Sunday afternoon is one example of a situational feature that enhances the immersive experience and invites visitors to unwind as they interact with the exhibition's material.
