I submitted two documentaries. One of them is my first documentary I made (re-worked) about immigration and culture. The other is the first of a series called UNCUT where I interview emerging media artists about their journey in the industry. For this one I interviewed the singer and performer Sumer. What’s next for your practice? Anything you’re really excited to make? I am really excited to continue with the UNCUT series, getting to showcase an emerging artist but also collaborate with them. I am also working with other artists into making a community magazine that serves the same purpose of the series. Why did you decide to come to MCAD? I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do. I liked music and architecture but I wanted to also have more creative freedom so I tried a course here at MCAD called DigiPhoto Basics and that made me settle on my decision of wanting to work in photography and filmmaking. Favorite thing about college life (so far)? I think for me it is the active collaboration with other students. We have managed to keep doing it safely during Covid and that is something that I really enjoy. What's the best thing you've got from MCAD's free shelf? I got a book once. I used it for the background of a stop motion project. Anything you’re obsessed with at the moment? The movie Tenet by Christopher Nolan What inspires you? Music, and the production of music videos Do you have a favorite piece you've made? Describe it! Yes! My favorite piece is Mezclados, the culture and immigration documentary I reworked to submit for the scholarship. Favorite cafeteria meal? Definitely the mac and cheese.
