Applied User Interface (UI) Design and Digital Accessibility (online)

Dig into User Interface design (UI) application and learn how to translate a company's brand into a digital product's visual design language utilizing Figma, a collaborative design tool.

Explore how accessibility, atomic (a visual identity system), and responsive design are core tenets in UI and lead to scalable, inclusive and well-designed digital products. Learn how to inject accessibility at every turn of the design process from building color palettes that have appropriate color contrast to ensuring components have proper labeling and correct touch targets. Class sessions include lectures on a specific UI topic (typography, color, grids, UI components and page layouts), demonstrations and work time. Use Figma and Frontify to complete exercises that will ultimately work towards a final prototype. Spend time in each class reviewing work for critique and feedback, resulting in a refined prototype at the completion of this course that will be perfect as a portfolio piece.

Open to students ages 18 and above. Review complete policies, including class cancellation policies, before completing your registration.
