Awesome Animations (Stop-Motion Filmmaking) (in person)

Students create characters, set designs and stories as they learn how to use a variety of materials, clay, paper, everyday objects and their own body, to tell a story. Students are guided through the use of iPads and video editing software to produce animation shorts while exploring frame by frame techniques. Ages 9–12

Students also learn techniques such as animated cell painting and background design. A portion of each day the class explores the history of animation, learning about famous animators and meeting a working animator. The week includes a mini-field trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Family and friends are invited to enjoy the animations created by the students at a screening on Friday afternoon.

Open to students ages 9-12. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. Please review our complete Summer Youth Camps Policies as well as our General Policies before completing your registration.
