Drawing Studio: Street Pop! for ages 12-15 (in person) | Minneapolis College of Art and Design

Drawing Studio: Street Pop! for ages 12-15 (in person)

Learn a variety of drawing techniques and study the elements of art through a Pop and Street Art lens.

After viewing Andy Warhol’s Pop prints of everyday objects, draw Pop candy imagery that leaps off the page. Comic art techniques employed in Roy Lichtenstein’s Pop art, such as Ben-Day dots, black outlines, and text, and street graffiti inspire drawing and lettering activities on paper. Explore color blending, layering, and pattern work to create unique effects like the brightly-colored Drip murals by artist Jen Stark. Working with graphite, markers, and colored pencils, incorporate the art elements of line, value, and texture into a variety of drawing projects. / Materials fee of $7 included in course tuition.

Open to students ages 12–15. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. Please review our complete Youth Policies as well as our General Policies before completing your registration.
