Experimental Tapestry: Creative Weaving (in person) | Minneapolis College of Art and Design

Experimental Tapestry: Creative Weaving (in person)

Explore the art of tapestry weaving through an experimental lens by merging classical techniques with innovative processes and unconventional materials.

Course description

Tailored for both beginners and experienced textile artists, delve into non-traditional approaches to tapestry, and challenge the boundaries of traditional weaving by incorporating diverse textures, found objects, and sculptural elements into weaving. Through a combination of hands-on practice and creative exploration, develop both technical proficiency and an expanded conceptual understanding of tapestry as a contemporary art form. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have created a unique woven artwork, gaining a deeper appreciation for the expansive creative possibilities within this enduring medium.

Open to ages 16 and above. Review complete policies, including class cancellation policies, before completing your registration.
