Introduction to Woodworking: Miniature Furniture (in person)

Learn basic woodworking skills while building a one-of-a-kind and fun miniature piece of furniture.

Building miniature furniture offers insight into the world of design through a much smaller lens. This hands-on course provides a unique experience, creating one, or multiple, pieces of miniature furniture entirely out of wood. Learn basic woodworking skills through the use of multiple hand tools, like dremels, pull saws, and chisels and machines including band saws and drills. Skills covered include: shaping, sanding, and a variety of finishing techniques. Start by experimenting with scrap wood and developing a concept. In subsequent class sessions, get feedback from the instructor, develop a plan, see demos on various techniques, and work on constructing and finishing the completed project. Each finished piece will be no larger than 8”x8”x8” and will be suitable for display. Please note that this is not a dollhouse furniture making class. / Materials fee of $29 and facilities fees of $58 included in tuition.

Open to students ages 18 and above. Review complete policies, including class cancellation policies, before completing your registration.
