Learn the expansive and inclusive practice of mixed media that allows young artists to investigate a wide variety of materials to create projects in both 2D and 3D forms. Open to ages 6-9. Course descriptionCreating with collage, weaving/textiles, paper mache, painting, and drawing teaches students to embrace the unexpected. Have fun using unusual objects to create art. Take inspiration from contemporary mixed media artists like Clare Cleleste Borsch, Tyree Guyton, Eghosa Raymond Akenbor, and Yayoi Kusama who work in abstraction, installation, and collage. This course concludes with a showcase of artwork for friends and family to admire. / No class on Friday of this week.Open to students ages 6–9.
