Pre-College Studio Intensive: Illustration (in person)

Bridging the gap between artistic expression and real-world applications, students learn the methods that contemporary illustrators use to create eye-catching images for books, magazines, posters, and products. Assignments and in-class activities focus on visual storytelling, working collaboratively, and channeling creativity on a deadline. Using traditional methods along with the latest software, teens hone their conceptual thinking skills alongside their drawing abilities to build their illustration portfolios. / This class will have an unsupervised 30 minute lunch break. / Students will have access to Adobe Creative Cloud software throughout the class. / Materials fee of $50 included in course tuition.

Open to students ages 15-18. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. Please review our complete Teen Policies as well as our General Policies prior to completing your registration.

Prerequisites

Previous drawing experience is helpful, but not required. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is helpful, but not required.

Required materials

Supplies for first class

• pen or pencil
• notebook or sketchbook
• USB drive or cloud storage option for saving work
• packed lunch each day, no nuts

The materials fee for this class will cover the required supplies.

Hardware
Students will have access to Adobe Creative Cloud software. If students want to use this software at home, they will need a computer capable of running Adobe software.
