Web Development: HTML (online)

This course introduces the fundamental language of the web: HyperText Markup Language (HTML).

Explore how the web works, including tags, links, images, lists, tables, forms, web standards (old, new, and evolving), directory structure, wireframing, web development best practices, and lay the foundation for further web development in the next course, Web Development Basics: CSS. This five week online course is a blend of tutorials, readings, development projects, and online discussion. The class is geared toward the beginning to intermediate web developer or designer. / Students will have access to Adobe Creative Cloud software throughout the course. / This course is part of the MA in Graphic and Web Design and is a graduate level course.

Open to students ages 18 and above. Review complete policies, including class cancellation policies, before completing your registration.

Class meeting details

This online course is asynchronous, meaning that there are no set class meeting times. Instead, the course is project-based, with 2 to 3 deadlines per week, and students can choose a time and place that works best for them to complete the work. Course activities may include readings; video demonstrations and tutorials; online discussions; projects; and critiques.

Adobe Creative Cloud (provided by MCAD).

Hardware
A computer capable of running Adobe Creative Cloud software, with internet access.
